...sign of our times...

Upon being handed a journal as a gift, a nine year-old asks his mom what it was. The mom says that it was a notebook to record his thoughts and feelings, every day. The kid replies, "You mean, it is a blog...on paper." Reader's Digest, Oct 2008 issue

The 1-minute meditation

Sometime ago, I ran across a series of videos on YouTube from a Sri Dattatreya Siva Baba claiming to be the guru to Wayne Dyer (of PBS fame), who told us folks in the Western world of the “Aaaa” meditation.

Upon a closer inspection, this one-minute meditation actually feels comprehensive enough to be practised everyday.

How to do this meditation

Sound — time in seconds
aaaa for 10 s (focusing on the base chakra)
uuuuu for 10 s (focusing on the heart chakra)
maaaa for 5 s (focusing on the throat chakra)
aum for 10 s (focusing on the third eye, the ajna chakra)
na for 5 s (focusing on the base chakra)
ma for 5 s (focusing on the solar plexus chakra)
shi for 5 s (focusing on the heart chakra)
va for 5 s (focusing on the throat chakra)
ya for 5 s (focusing on the ajna chakra)

I usually do this on my way to work, not the best place, but gives me privacy in the car.

This is supposed to burn away any past life karma that may be holding you back.
